Nigel Mead - Biography

In 2003, he was approached by The Discovery Network to create and perform a show for their Kids Channel. The result 'Get Tricky' proved to be a great success and continues to be aired to this day. It also led to Nigel presenting The Discovery Channel's Nationwide Roadshow.

In 2005, Nigel featured as the main mentor in a 90-minute special of multi award-winning show, 'Faking It'. The challenge was to transform a Scottish forensic scientist, who'd never appeared in front of a crowd, into a competent and confident stage magician.

2006 saw Nigel in a brand new series for Channel 4's youth strand, T4. 'Freaky' is contemporary street magic performed on unsuspecting members of the public and shows us some of Nigel's most imaginative work to date. TV Credits for 2007 include 'Cre-8' a successful brand new production for the Discovery Network and appearances on ITV's coverage of The Champions League Football.

Currently in 2008 Nigel is working as consultant on the Channel 4 production of the multi-award winning drama Skins, as well as producing and starring in a teen magic show for the Middle Eastern market to be broadcast in 2009.

As well as his TV work, Nigel remains as passionate about live performance as ever and can be seen at events all around the world.

Live Magic
Nigel's work shows how traditional magic benefits from his artistic and nonconformist approach. With thousands of hours of live performance experience gained in both the corporate and private sectors, he is absolutely comfortable no matter how unscripted or spontaneous a situation.

His wit and warmth make the impossibility of his magic all the more compelling and he is as far removed from the patronising stereotype as anyone could be. People are able to watch inches away from the action and yet remain captivated and confounded.

Queen Elizabeth II, Robert DeNiro, Tom Hanks, Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Claudia Schiffer, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert DeNiro, Steven Spielberg to name but a few have all experienced his performances.
